Lone Star Bakery in San Antonio, TX is one of the largest USDA co-manufacturing bakeries in the United States with approximately 400,000 square feet in manufacturing space.

They manufacture biscuits, fruit-filled pies, meat-filled pies, kolaches, and other baked goods for many top 200 QSR brands, top 15 food service distributors, and top 25 grocery chains.


Roles: Mixers, Line Operators, Packers, Maintenance, General Labor


Problem

Lone Star Bakery has over 350 employees and production lines running 24 hours per day. To expand and meet fluctuating demand, the food production facility needs high quality, consistent manufacturing workers. Lone Star Bakery tested 4 previous agencies but was dissatisfied with missing and inexperienced workers and had difficulties reaching out to customer support to solve staffing issues. 


Solution

Lone Star Bakery partnered with Traba to support their need for temporary day labor and temp-to-hire, consistent high quality manufacturing workers, and hands-on operational support. To hire experienced food production workers, every potential hire undergoes the Four Point Vetting Process.


This was conducted by both the Local and National Operations Team who are supported with the best verification technologies. Traba’s 24/7 Live Operations Team filled large shift requests quickly and were in constant communication to recover from any emergencies.


Results

Traba provided Lone Star Bakery with 50 workers and 3 shifts a day, and the partnership will only continue to grow.In 2022, Lone Star Bakery grew its business and need for new workers which Traba comfortably filled at a 97% fill rate.


The partnership made the staffing solution work seamlessly to connect hundreds of quality workers with the food production facility, reducing time spent working with staffing agencies and increasing productivity.

Lone Star Bakery utilized their direct contact to Traba’s Operations Team via email, cell, and text to immediately address any needs or changes. Traba utilized worker geo-tracking, confirmation calls, backup workers, and Traba’s 24/7 Live Operations Team to monitor every shift.

In one situation, Lone Star Bakery faced an urgent requirement for 4 workers to start immediately. Traba’s Territory Operations Manager, Amy, directly responded to the Production Manager’s call and got all 4 workers on-site within the hour.
